Barcelona Filberts (Hazelnuts)

The Barcelona produces a very large nut, that is round, and fine-flavored. Tree very vigorous and productive. Barcelona Filbert is an important commercial variety in Oregon. Ripens early September. Shipped only. Zones 5-8

Filberts are easy to grow and will succeed wherever it is possible to grow Peaches. Fully grown trees compare in size with a Peach or Plum tree. They are free from disease and require no spraying. The trees start to bear as early as the third year after planting and our named varieties produce large nuts that are easy to crack, high in food value and very tasty. Nuts mature in early September and drop free from the husk. Planting and Care. — Suckers must be removed from the base of the tree or a bush will result. Plant as a fruit tree.

More than one variety must be planted for cross-pollination.
