Heavy Metal (Panicum Virgatum) This striking ornamental grass gives you an array of beauty throughout the seasons. Metallic-blue leaves turn yellow in fall with burgundy seed heads fading to beige in winter. Pinkish flowers in summer grow 12 to 16 inches above foliage. Heavy Metal has a sturdy, upright growth, needs little maintenance and tolerates most soils. Does best in full sun to light shade. Use for borders, mass plantings, perennial gardens, even in a large container; plant with Elijah Blue for a wonderful contrast of color and shape. Mature height 3 to 4’. Zones 4-9 Shipped spring only.
