Sunlight Exposure: Proper pruning opens up the canopy, allowing sunlight to penetrate all parts of the tree. This is crucial for even fruit ripening and overall tree health.
Nut Production: Strategic pruning encourages the development of lateral branches, where pistachios bear nuts. This enhances nut production and facilitates harvesting.
Pruning Techniques
Timing Matters: Prune established in-ground pistachio trees during late winter to early spring, before new growth emerges. This allows the tree to focus energy on developing new branches and flowers.
